पाकिस्तान के अशांत उत्तर-पश्चिमी पेशावर शहर में उच्च सुरक्षा वाले क्षेत्र की एक मस्जिद में तालिबान के आत्मघाती हमले में मरने वालों की संख्या सोमवार (30 जनवरी, 2023) को बढ़कर 61 हो गई। सोमवार को दोपहर की नमाज के दौरान नमाजियों से खचाखच भरी एक मस्जिद में खुद को उड़ाने वाले हमलावर ने 150 से ज्यादा लोगों को घायल कर दिया, जिनमें ज्यादातर पुलिसकर्मी थे।

अधिकारियों के अनुसार, पुलिस लाइन इलाके में मस्जिद के अंदर दोपहर करीब 1.40 बजे शक्तिशाली विस्फोट हुआ, जब नमाजी, जिसमें पुलिस, सेना और बम निरोधक दस्ते के कर्मी शामिल थे, जोहर (दोपहर) की नमाज अदा कर रहे थे।

The death toll in a Taliban suicide attack on a mosque in a high-security area in Pakistan's restive northwestern Peshawar city rose to 61 on Monday (January 30, 2023). A suicide bomber blew himself up inside a mosque packed with worshipers during afternoon prayers on Monday, injuring more than 150 people, mostly policemen.

According to officials, the powerful explosion occurred inside the mosque in the Police Lines area around 1.40 pm when the worshippers, including police, army and bomb disposal squad personnel, were offering Zohar (afternoon) prayers.
