In an exclusive interview with Sports Tak, senior Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma shared his honest views on the upcoming T20 World Cup and the current transition phase of the Indian Test team. Ishant reacted to Virat Kohli stepping down from Test captaincy and said he was personally shocked, as he felt Kohli could have led the team for one more cycle. He also praised Virat’s fitness, saying even today’s youngsters cannot match his level.

Talking about the T20 World Cup, Ishant called Abhishek Sharma an “X-factor” and showed full confidence in Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership. On recent Test defeats, he said the team is going through changes and young players need time to gain experience. Ishant also described coaching as a “thankless job” and urged fans to stay patient and support Team India.
