After the controversy over his stand on endorsing Pepsi, Bollywood's legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has landed in trouble once again for allegedly promoting false beliefs in a television commercial.

Activist Hemant Patil has lodged a complaint against the megastar and demanded that a police case be filed against him under Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013. The complaint refers to a TV ad for Complan where Bachchan reprises his character from his film Bhootnath and its sequel Bhootnath Returns.

According to Patil, the ad promotes the belief in ghosts and the use of magic to ward them off.

According to the petition, Patil had to move court after the Bandra police refused to register a complaint against the superstar.
