Indian Olympic Dream E01 | Harmilan Bains | 1500m National Record Holder

1500m Women's National Record holder Harmilan Bains has middle-distance running in her blood. Daughter of former 1500m runners Madhuri Singh and Amandeep Bains, athletics comes naturally to the 23-year-old. And while she has already started excelling at it, Harmilan had her fair share of struggles and obstacles to overcome.

From having to live up to her national champion and Asian Games medallist-parents' expectations to the pains and problems the body puts a women sportsperson through, the Punjab-based runner has been through a lot. In the first episode of Indian Olympic Dream, we hear 'The Queen' talk about all the challenges she had to face so far in her young career, from fighting stereotypes to becoming a national champion.
