But then came the Britishers, who ruined brotherhood between Hindus and Muslims forever with their Divide and Rule policy. Brothers from another mother began sliting each other's throats in the name of religion! There were several religious riots that took place pre and post-India and Pakistan's independence. The India-Pakistan partition severed the weak ties even more! Occupying Kashmir became a fierce competition between both countries. Why? What was in Kashmir that both nations were willing to go to at any lengths? And why did Kashmir's King Hari Singh, came to India for help? And willingly made Kashmir a part of India? And if so, then why is still Pakistan hell-bent on occupying Kashmir? In fact, post world war 2, there have been 4 wars between India-Pakistan. Kashmir has been divided into two parts- Pakistan occupied Kashmir and India occupied Kashmir, all because of the United Nations intervention! And many outsiders such as China and the USA have taken undue advantage of this situation. China even attacked India's border and went on a war with India. A war that made India face severe food and financial crisis!
