सूरत क्राइम ब्रांच पुलिस ने देश के प्रमुख हिंदू नेताओं की हत्या की साजिश रचने के आरोप में मौलाना अबू बकर को गिरफ्तार किया है। उसने नूपुर शर्मा समेत कई बड़े हिंदू नेताओं को धमकी दी थी. बताया जा रहा है कि उसके पाकिस्तान के आकाओं से संबंध थे.
