Group Capt Abhinandan Varthaman awarded Vir Chakra for shooting down Pakistan’s F-16
Indian Air Force Wing Commander (now Group Captain) Abhinandan Varthaman was awarded the Vir Chakra on Monday (November 22, 2021) by President Ram Nath Kovind for shooting down a Pakistani F-16 fighter aircraft aerial combat on February 27, 2019.

विंग कमांडर अभिनंदन वर्धमान जो अब ग्रुप कैप्टन बन चुके हैं को उनकी वीरता के लिए सम्मान दिया गया. राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद ने एक समारोह में उन्हें वीर चक्र से सम्मानित किया. अभिनंदन ने 27 फरवरी 2019 को पाकिस्तानी फाइटर जेट एफ-16 को मार गिराया था.
