Renowned Film Critic and Trade Analyst, Komal Nahta reviews this week's releases - Alone, Crazy Cukkad Family and Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene and I.
Speaking of Alone, Komal Nahta is all praise for the film's script, acting and other technical aspects. He adds that all the actors in the film, Bipasha Basu, Karan Singh Grover, Sulbha Arya, Neena Gupta and Sanjay Sharma have done a fine job with the roles assigned to them. Although the film began on a low-key note, the collections are likely to increase purely for the erotic and horror content of the film that is sure to keep audiences engaged...
Crazy Cukkad Family starring Shilpa Shukla, Swanand Kirkire, Kushal Punjabi and others is an out-an-out laugh riot about a dysfunctional family who come together when they hear about their father's ill-health. Although the film is well-made, the script is not very adept which may result in the film's box office failure...
Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene stars Zayed Khan, Teena Desae and Rannvijay Singh is this Friday's third film release. The film's story is intriguing and engaging, but the second-half is very predictable. The drama angle seems to be one of convenience which may lead the audience to lose interest as the story carries on. Zayed Khan plays the role Prithvi Khurana fairly well, however Rannvijay Singh Sangha plays his role with much aplomb and shines through. Teena Desae and Anupam Kher act as great supporting actors to hold the film together. Gurmeet Singh's direction is adequate as it keeps the audience reasonably involved.
Shankar's I, dubbed into Hindi from Tamil, is a love story between a body builder and a supermodel played by Vikram and Amy Jackson respectively. The script has been co-written by the director of the film, Shankar, who has done an impeccable job with his narration and direction. The audience is engaged from beginning to end. The film's Hindi dialogues have been written by Swanand Kirkire. Vikram is outstanding in the character of Lingesan and he has sported many looks and is successful in portraying all of them with a lot of ease. Amy Jackson as Dia is good in her role and has looked very pretty as well. The other actors also do a fine job with the role assigned to them. The music is by A.R. Rahman is very good along with the picturization of each of these songs. The film is being loved by audience all over and will be a major box office hit.
