DNA: भारत के लोग इस बात से बहुत आहत हैं कि मालदीव्स के मंत्री, भारत के बारे में इस तरह के बुरे विचार रखते हैं। भारतीय इस बात से नाराज हैं, कि मालद्वीस के मंत्री, उनके देश के प्रधानमंत्री का मज़ाक उड़ा रहे हैं। मालदीव्स की ट्रैवल बुकिंग कैंसिल होने की घटनाएं, केवल छोटे मोटे ट्रैवल एजेंट्स तक ही सीमित नहीं हैं। भारतीय टूरिज्म कंपनियां भी, मालदीव्स टूरिज्म को लेकर अपने हाथ खींच रही हैं। Travel Agents Association of India भी मानती है कि भारतीयों का पसंदीदा टूरिस्ट स्पॉट मालदीव्स ही रहा है। लेकिन भारत और भारतीयों के लिए अपमानजनक टिप्पणी के बाद लोगों ने मालदीव्स से दूरी बनानी शुरू कर दी है। अबतक 15 हजार से ज्यादा लोगों ने मालदीव्स की बुकिंग कैंसिल करवा दी है। हालांकि एसोसिएशन की अध्यक्ष ये भी मान रही हैं कि मालदीव्स के वो लोग जिनका घर टूरिज्म के इसी बिजनेस से चलता है, उनके मुताबिक मंत्रियों का बयान, उनके अपने विचार हैं।
