DNA: Padma award to the common man with extraordinary thinking
Tulsi Gowda was conferred with the Padma Shri award, which is the fourth-highest civilian award in the country. President Ram Nath Kovind presented the award to the tribal environmentalist, who was barefoot and dressed in traditional attire in the ceremony.

राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद ने सोमवार को देश की जानी-मानी हस्तियों को पद्म पुरस्कारों से नवाजा. लेकिन इन तमाम हस्तियों के बीच जिस एक नाम ने सबका ध्यान अपनी ओर खींचा वह थीं कर्नाटक की पर्यावरणविद् तुलसी गौड़ा. पुरस्कार ग्रहण करने से पहले उन्होंने पहली कतार में बैठे प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और गृह मंत्री अमित शाह का अभिवादन किया, जिसके जवाब में दोनों नेताओं ने हाथ जोड़कर इसे स्वीकार भी किया. इस दौरान तुलसी गौड़ा बगैर चप्पल के दिखीं.
