We had reported a few months back that Karan Johar will officially remake hit Marathi film ‘Sairaat’ in Hindi and that the remake project, titled ‘Dhadak’ will star Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishan Khattar and Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor.
Johar today took to his Twitter page and shared the first look of the film, which features Ishaan and Janhvi holding each other lovingly against a rustic landscape painted yellow by the sun. Based on the silhouette of a camel seen in the poster, we can assume that the remake is set in Rajasthan. ‘Dhadak’ will be directed by Shashank Kaitan.
Directed by Nagraj Manjule, ‘Sairaat’ was a tragic love story about a girl from a higher caste and a boy from a lower caste.
