भारतीय मूल के ब्रिटिश उपन्यासकार सलमान रुश्दी की हालत बहुत गंभीर है। रुश्दी पर अमेरिका के न्यू यॉर्क में शुक्रवार को एक युवक ने धारदार हथियार से हमला किया था, जिसमें उनकी एक आंख लगभग बेकार हो चुकी है। सलमान रुश्दी के लिवर में गंभीर चोट आई है और उनके हाथ की नस भी कट गई है। सलमान रुश्दी पर हमले को उनके विवादित उपन्यास द सैटेनिक वर्सेज़ के खिलाफ जारी फतवे का नतीजा माना जा रहा है।

Indian-origin British novelist Salman Rushdie is in critical condition. Rushdie was attacked in New York, USA on Friday by a young man with a sharp weapon, in which one of his eyes was almost lost. Salman Rushdie has suffered a serious liver injury and a vein in his hand has also been cut. The attack on Salman Rushdie is believed to be the result of a fatwa against his controversial novel The Satanic Verses.
