Though Aamir Khan’s recent release ‘Dangal’ has been loved by everyone, it seems that coach PR Sondhi, who had trained Geeta Phogat during the 2010 Commonwealth Games, is not pleased with the movie at all.
The reason- in the film, Geeta and Babita’s coach for the Commonwealth Games has been played by Girish Kulkarni, who is shown to be a mean character named PR Kadam and Sondhi feels that this negative portrayal of Kadam has hurt his sentiments and reputation. Sondhi also went on to say that he will meet Aamir Khan and seek an explanation for this distortion of facts. Incidentally, Kripa Shakar Bishnoi, who trained Aamir Khan for the wrestling sequences in the film, is Sondhi’s former student.
‘Dangal’ was based on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trained his daughters Geeta and Babita in the sport.
