इसरो ने मंगलवार को कहा कि चंद्रयान-3 के 'प्रज्ञान' रोवर पर लगे लेजर-प्रेरित ब्रेकडाउन स्पेक्ट्रोस्कोप उपकरण ने पहली बार इन-सीटू माप के माध्यम से दक्षिणी ध्रुव के पास चंद्रमा की सतह पर सल्फर की उपस्थिति की स्पष्ट रूप से पुष्टि की है। इसमें यह भी कहा गया कि उपकरण ने उम्मीद के मुताबिक एल्यूमीनियम, कैल्शियम, लोहा, क्रोमियम, टाइटेनियम, मैंगनीज, सिलिकॉन और ऑक्सीजन का भी पता लगाया।

The Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscope instrument onboard 'Pragyan' rover of Chandrayaan-3 has unambiguously confirmed the presence of sulphur on the lunar surface near south pole, through first-ever in-situ measurements, ISRO said on Tuesday. It also said the instrument also detected aluminium, calcium, iron, chromium, titanium, manganese, silicon and oxygen, as expected.
