वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण (Nirmala Sitharaman) ने बुधवार को लोकसभा में साल 2023-24 का आम बजट पेश किया और इसे अमृतकाल का पहला बजट बताया. अपने पांचवें यूनियन बजट में निर्मला सीतारमण ने महिलाओं और वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को बड़ी सौगात दी. इसके अलावा उन्होंने टैक्स स्लैब में बदलाव को लेकर बड़ा ऐलान किया, जिसके बाद सालाना 7 लाख रुपये तक की आय वालों को कोई टैक्स नहीं देना पड़ेगा.
