भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग (IMD) के अनुसार, अत्यंत गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान बिपारजॉय के 15 जून को जखाऊ बंदरगाह के पास लैंडफॉल करने की संभावना है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने चक्रवात के प्रभाव को कम करने की तैयारियों की समीक्षा के लिए आज एक बैठक की।

पीएमओ ने कहा कि एनडीआरएफ ने 12 टीमों को पहले से तैनात कर दिया है, जो नावों, पेड़ काटने वालों और दूरसंचार उपकरणों से लैस हैं और 15 टीमों को तैयार रखा गया है। अधिकारियों ने कहा कि लगभग 7,500 लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया है और कच्छ-सौराष्ट्र जिलों में तट से 10 किलोमीटर की दूरी के भीतर स्थित गांवों में रहने वाले लोगों को निकालने का उचित अभियान मंगलवार से शुरू होगा।

केंद्र ने राज्य सरकार को तटवर्ती और अपतटीय गतिविधियों को विनियमित करने और कच्छ, देवभूमि द्वारका, पोरबंदर, जामनगर, राजकोट, जूनागढ़ और मोरबी सहित जिलों से सौराष्ट्र और कच्छ के तटीय क्षेत्रों से निकासी जुटाने का निर्देश दिया है।

आईएमडी अहमदाबाद केंद्र की निदेशक मनोरमा मोहंती ने कहा कि चक्रवात से पहले 135-145 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से 150 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से हवाएं चलेंगी और भारी बारिश होगी।

आईएमडी ने 15 जून को कच्छ, देवभूमि द्वारका और जामनगर जिलों में कुछ स्थानों पर भारी से बहुत भारी बारिश की चेतावनी दी है।

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the extremely severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy is likely to make landfall near Jakhau port on June 15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting today to review preparations to mitigate the impact of the cyclone.

The NDRF has pre-positioned 12 teams, which are equipped with boats, tree-cutters and telecom equipment, and has kept 15 teams on standby, the PMO said. Around 7,500 people have been shifted to safer places, and a proper evacuation operation will begin from Tuesday for people residing in villages located within a distance of 10 kilometres from the coast in Kutch-Saurashtra districts, officials said.

The Centre has directed the State government to regulate onshore and offshore activities and mobilise evacuation from coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch from districts including Kutch, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Junagadh and Morbi.

The cyclone will be preceded by winds with speeds of 135-145 kmph gusting to 150 kmph and extremely heavy rainfall, said IMD Ahmedabad centre director Manorama Mohanty.

The IMD has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in the districts of Kutch, Devbhumi Dwarka and Jamnagar on June 15.
