Only when you live up to your human potential through loving, giving and empathizing; you are a human reality rather than a possibility.

If someone were to present you with a gift, the way you react to it is a direct response to the giver. If you insult the gift, then you are insulting the giver, Mahatria says. If you appreciate the gift, then you are appreciating the giver of the gift, rather than the material object itself.

Since you have been given the gift of being human, you must love spontaneously, in every moment of your life. Empathy and love are the ways to cherish your human spirit, and thereby, cherish the giver of the gift.

If you do not embody love in your everyday life, if you fail to smile, to laugh, or to empathize with other fellow life forms, then you are abusing your gift, and therefore, abusing God, Mahatria says.

Reciting mantras, doing prayers or rituals, or fasting are not sufficient expressions of love and respect for God. Only when you live up to your human potential through loving, giving, and empathizing, you live a human reality rather than a possibility.

This is the highest form of respect and devotion to God.
