हिमाचल प्रदेश के मंडी में ब्यास नदी ने जमकर कोहराम मचाया। पहाड़ों से तूफ़ानी रफ़्तार से आए पानी ने सब कुछ बर्बाद कर दिया, लेकिन 300 साल पुराना महादेव का पंचवक्त्र मंदिर चट्टान की तरह खड़ा रहा। करीब 300 साल पुराना ये मंदिर ब्यास नदी के रौद्र रूप में करीब-करीब डूब गया था। ब्यास नदी ने इतना विकराल रूप ले लिया था कि मंदिर का केवल ऊपरी सिरा ही नज़र आ रहा था। सैलाब में पास ही बना पुल तो बह गया लेकिन बाढ़ का पानी उतरा तो ये मंदिर बिल्कुल सुरक्षित मिला। सैलाब के बीच भी ये मंदिर पूरी तरह से सुरक्षित रहा, सिर्फ इसके आसपास की रेलिंग और फर्श को ही नुकसान पहुंचा ।

About 300 years old this temple was almost drowned in the raging form of river Beas. The river Beas had taken such a formidable form that only the upper end of the temple was visible.The bridge built nearby was washed away in the flood, but when the flood waters receded, this temple was found completely safe. This temple remained completely safe even in the midst of flood, only the railing and floor around it were damaged.
