हैदराबाद की एक महिला पुलिसकर्मी को वहां की बीजेपी उम्मीदवार माधवी लता की सुरक्षा में लगाया गया। चुनाव प्रचार के दौरान जब वो महिला ASI माधवी लता से मिली तो उसने शिष्टाचार के तौर पर उनसे हाथ मिलाया और गले मिलीं। लेकिन हैदराबाद के पुलिस कमिश्नर ने एक महिला पुलिसकर्मी के उम्मीदवार से गले मिलने को चुनाव आचार संहिता का उल्लंघन बताया और उनको सस्पेंड कर दिया। इस फैसले की आलोचना भी हो रही है हालांकि माधवी लता ने अब तक इस मुद्दे पर कुछ नहीं कहा है।

A female policeman from Hyderabad was deployed for the security of BJP candidate Madhavi Lata. When the woman met ASI Madhavi Lata during the election campaign, she shook hands with her and hugged her as a courtesy. But the Hyderabad Police Commissioner termed the hugging of a female policeman by the candidate as a violation of the election code of conduct and suspended her. This decision is also being criticized although Madhavi Lata has not said anything on this issue till now.
