सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बहुमत के फैसले के आधार पर आर्थिक आधार पर आरक्षण को सही ठहराया. इससे ये साफ हो गया कि गरीब सवर्णों को 10% आरक्षण मिलता रहेगा.

The Supreme Court justified the reservation on economic grounds on the basis of a majority decision. From this it became clear that the poor upper castes would continue to get 10% reservation.
