The holy month of Ramadan began earlier this May and Muslims across the world are observing fast to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief.
Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman is presently in Cannes to promote his directorial venture Le Musk. The music director is also observing fasts and last night, he broke his fast at the French Riviera. Rahman shared a photo with his fans, which shows him sitting on a dinner table with a glass of apple juice in his hand and some sumptuous salad on the table. Along with the image, he wrote, “8:51 pm Iftaar.”
The music director-producer-singer-songwriter has wielded the megaphone for Le Musk, a virtual reality short. The Mozart of Madras, who has been trying to tell stories through music thus far, believes that VR is a game changer and has opened a whole new dimension of creativity.
Shot in Rome, the film follows the journey of an orphaned child Juliet, full-time heiress and part-time musician, who grows up into a femme fatale. All through, she has one constant companion - the lingering Muskan scent. However, her life takes a dramatic turn when she receives an anonymous message, which brings her suppressed childhood memories back. The film has been made in English to reach out to a wider audience.
Written, produced and directed by A. R Rahman, the movie stars Nora Arnezeder, Guy Burnet and Munirih Grace in the lead roles.
