After getting booked for assaulting two people at a fashion show in Navi Mumbai, this May, Bigg Boss 8 contestant Ajaz Khan has got into legal soup again. He got arrested by the Cyber police on Thursday for uploading a communally sensitive video on popular video sharing app TikTok. and for promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion.
Shiv Sena worker, Ramesh Solanki lodged a written complaint against the actor for posting two objectionable videos on July 9. In the first video, he was seen enticing an entire community to take revenge for the alleged lynching of Jharkhand native Tabrez Ansari. In the second video, he mocked the police machinery for registering an FIR against five TikTok users who had uploaded inflammatory videos on the platform.
After verifying the content, the cops asked him to appear at Cyber police station at Bandra Kurla Complex, where he was arrested post inquiry. The police arrested him for ‘promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, etc. and create hatred among public at large'.
He has been charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act Sec. 67 which can attract a jail term of five years and/or fine of Rs 5,00,000.
