1) Phool Aur Kaante
Ajay's debut film. Film was a big hit and Ajay received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Devgn gave a critically acclaimed performance in Mahesh Bhatt's drama, Zakhm, and received his first National Film Award for Best Actor.

3) Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Ajay played Vanraj, a man who tries to unite his wife with her lover. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan were his co-stars in the film.

4) Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha
A romantic comedy - the film was a remake of the Hollywood hit French Kiss and also starred his wife Kajol. The film did well at the box-office.

The film was set in the time of the blinding incident in Bhagalpur. Devgn gave a commendable performance and the film was a hit.

9) Khakee
Devgn was cast with Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar in Rajkumar Santoshi's action thriller Khakee. He played a villain. His performance as a police officer turned murderer was well received by critics.

10) Raincoat
Devgn next collaborated with Rituparno Ghosh in the relationship drama Raincoat, with Aishwaraya Rai Bachchan. The film was an adaptation of O. Henry's The Gift of the Magi. Raincoat met with wide critical acclaim and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. Devgn was praised for his performance.

11) Omkara
Devgn played Othello in Omkara, an Hindi adaptation of William Shakespeare's Othello. It was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Omkara was well received by critics.

Film was a thriller and a remake of Jeethu Joseph's 2013 Malayalam film Drishyam. It featured Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran in key roles. Ajay essayed the role of a protective family man and his performance was highly appreciated.

17) Raid
In this period crime thriller, Ajay essayed the role of Amey Patnaik - a fearless IRS officer. Film met with positive reviews from critics and audience appreciation.
