American-Born Confused Desi is an upcoming Malayalam comedy film directed by Martin Prakkat, produced by Shibu Thameens under the banner of Thammens Films, written by Sooraj-Neeraj. It stars Dulquer Salmaan, Aparna Gopinath and Jacob Gregory in the lead roles. The film features music composed by Gopi Sunder, whilst cinematography is handled by Jomon T. John and the film is edited by Donmax.
The film narrates the journey of two young American Malayalees to their Motherland, Kerala with the title based on the term American-Born Confused Desi .

The name of Dulquer Salmaan's next with Martin Prakkat was kept under hush. The medias had been following a huge buzz after Martin Prakkat announced his next project with Dulquer Salmaan early in the 2nd quarter of 2012. Making his directorial debut through 'Best Actor', Martin keeping Mammootty. The movie was a blockbuster gathering a gross collection of 19.45cr. Martin as a director had climbed up the ladder of success which has landed him on 'ABCD', the brand new project keeping Dulquer Salmaan on the right side. Martin Prakkat informed thatus though the project was announced a few months before it's shoot, acquiring the licence to shoot in the US delayed the commencement of the project. Sameera Saneesh was chosen to be the costume designer for the film, which mainly was of modern fashion, since the story has the lead characters who are from the states. Bipin Chandran has done the additional scripting for the film, acclaimed editor Don Max who has been the editor for many popular films was chosen to be the editor, the production controller is Alex E. Kurian along with Rajesh Menon being the production executive and the chief associate director is Linu Antony
