DHOOM 3 surpassed CHENNAI EXPRESS in the North American box office stakes collecting nearly 3.5 million USD during the weekend of its release. This makes it the most successful Bollywood film overseas. The film is the biggest Bollywood release so far in the North American territory playing at 236 locations and in the same number of theatres. The film is distributed by Yashraj Films. Over all overseas collections from all the stations including Pakistan, the Gulf and Middle East, Australia and the U.K aggregate around $10 million (Rs.62 crores).
The film has also broken all domestic box-office collection records of the past with an estimated weekend collection of nearly 90 crores from about 4000 screens across India

Add the overseas collection figures to it and you have a whopping and unprecedented weekend box office total of 150 crores, shattering all previous records by a wide margin. With Christmas and New Year still ahead, it is all set to become the biggest hit in the history of Indian cinema.
