To get into the skin of her character Sehmat, Alia has trained herself in hand-to-hand combat, driving and also learnt how the morse code works.

The film is directed by the talented Meghna Gulzar who achieved recognition when her film 'Talvar' based on a real life story achieved success. The filmmaker's eye for detail and research is pretty impeccable.

The promos of the film have piqued the interest of the public and from what we see the film promises to be a gripping thriller. Fans of this genre have something to look forward to. The film will see Alia slipping into three roles – that of a daughter, wife and a spy.

4) Ensemble Cast
Raazi also stars Alia's real life mom Soni Razdan and actor Rajit Kapur playing her parents. While Vicky Kaushal will be seen as her husband and a dedicated Pakistani army officer, Shishir Sharma will play Vicky’s father and a brigadier. Jaideep Ahlawat portrays Alia’s trainer. With such a stellar cast, the film promises to be an interesting watch.

The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat. According to the author, his novel is based on the real-life story of a Kashmiri girl whose efforts while being an undercover agent in Pakistan helped India to discover Pakistan's plans for sinking INS Vikrant.
