India developing its own 400 km class Long-Range Surface to Air Missile air defence system. India is developing a three-layered long-range surface-to-air missile (LRSAM) defence system that will be capable of hitting enemy aircraft and missiles up to 400km away. The $2.5bn project is at an advanced stage in the country's defence ministry. The missile system will have three layers of surface-to-air missiles, which will target different ranges, transforming India into one of an elite group of militaries with indigenous capabilities to hit airborne enemy assets from such distances.

S 400 India: भारत बना रहा स्वदेशी एस-400 मिसाइल सिस्टम. भारत रक्षा क्षेत्र में आत्मनिर्भरता के लिए लंबी दूरी तक मार करने वाला स्वदेशी एयर डिफेंस सिस्टम बना रहा है। यह तीन स्तरीय सतह से हवा में मार करने वाली मिसाइल डिफेंस सिस्टम होगा। इसे फिलहाल LRSAM नाम दिया गया है, जो दुश्मन के विमानों और मिसाइलों को मार गिराने में सक्षम होगी। भारत लंबी दूरी तक मार करने वाला स्वदेशी एयर डिफेंस सिस्टम विकसित कर रहा है। भारत का यह एयर डिफेंस रूसी एस-400 मिसाइल सिस्टम की तरह काम करेगा। इसकी रेंज एस-400 के जैसे ही 400 किलोमीटर तक होगी। यह दुश्मन के लड़ाकू विमानों, बैलिस्टिक मिसाइलों और अटैक ड्रोन को मार गिराने में सक्षम होगा।
