Nijjar was the victim of a fatal attack by unidentified assailants on Sunday, June 19, around 8:30 pm local time. He was exiting the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, Vancouver. Nijjar is a declared terrorist in India, wanted in several cases. He was the chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force and worked closely with Sikhs for Justice leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu

कनाडा में खालिस्‍तानी आतंकी हरदीप सिंह निज्‍जर की हत्‍या का मामला अभी शांत नहीं हुआ है. एक रिपोर्ट की मानें तो उसकी मौत के बाद से दुनिया के अलग-अलग हिस्‍सों में बसे खालिस्‍तानी आतंकियों के बीच एक दहशत का माहौल है. निज्‍जर की मौत ने उन्‍हें सहमा दिया है. एक महीने के अंदर निज्‍जर तीसरा खालिस्‍तानी था, जिसकी मौत हुई है.
