Shankar (Sajjan) lives a poor lifestyle in Bombay along with his pregnant wife, Maya (Kamini Kaushal), five sons and a daughter, Radha. Maya gives birth to their 7th child, a son, Chotu. Their neighbors Ranu (Chand Usmani) and Sunderlal (Sunder) do not have children and hence Ranu accuses her husband for this.
