लगातार बारिश और हथिनीकुंड बराज से छोड़े गए पानी ने दिल्ली में तबाही की घंटी बजानी शुरू कर दी है। अभी हथिनीकुंड से छूटा पानी का रेला पूरी तरह दिल्ली पहुंचा भी नहीं है, लेकिन उससे पहले ही यमुना अपना रौद्र रूप दिखाने लगी है। यमुना लगातार ख़तरे के निशान से ऊपर बह रही है और पानी का स्तर हर घंटे बढ़ता जा रहा है। यमुना किनारे बसे कई इलाकों में पानी घुस गया है। एहतियात के तौर पर हज़ारों लोगों को सुरक्षित जगहों पर पहुंचाया गया है। लोहे को पुल पर आवाजाही रोक दी गई है।

Incessant rains and water released from Hathnikund Barrage have started ringing bells of devastation in Delhi. As of now, the water train released from Hathinikund has not even reached Delhi completely, but even before that Yamuna has started showing its fierce form. Yamuna is continuously flowing above the danger mark and the water level is increasing every hour. Water has entered many areas situated on the banks of the Yamuna. Thousands of people have been shifted to safer places as a precautionary measure. Movement on the iron bridge has been stopped.
