The Pravasi Bhartiya Divas remains one of the most important platforms to mark the contribution of Overseas Indian Community in the development of India. The PBD Conventions being held since 2003 provide an opportunity to the overseas Indian community to engage with the government and people of the land of their ancestors for mutually beneficial activities. This short film, made especially to mark the PBD 2017 Convention in the beautiful city of Bengaluru highlights, how over the past couple of years, the government has tried to give new impetus to its engagement with the Overseas Indian community. For the first time ever, government leaders, at their highest levels have directly gone and engaged with the Indian community all across the world. Brainstorming sessions in the form of PBD Panel discussions on various topics of mutual interest have been held throughout 2016 in order to shape a relevant agenda for the PBD Convention which will now be held every two years.
