Crippling Drought in the Golden State: California Soul

California is in the middle of the worst drought it’s seen in nearly 500 years. We’re heading out to the driest towns to see just how screwed we really are and what people are doing to carry on.
California tends to be thought of as a home to movie stars, cults, gangs, hippies, and bronzed beach babes. But beyond the facade of Hollywood, some darker issues loom over Tinsel Town. VICE will delve into some of the Sunshine State's seedier stories, as well as explore the oddest sub­cultures, practices, problems, and pseudo­legal operations in the state. The new Vice.com series CALIFORNIA SOUL takes us into these bizarre worlds, painting a realistic picture of the glamorously strange side of California.
